Well, it’s been an interesting couple of weeks which explains the gap we have between posts!
This post will sum up the last number of days in a round about fashion!!!!!
We’ve already written and shared a little about this, but we’ve been having a bit of a hard time emotionally recently, just feeling a little discouraged and struggling trying to make sure we’re listening properly to the voice of the Lord 😢❤️ We really want to walk this journey well, and so we’re just asking God a lot to make sure we’re on the right path! Interestingly, just this last weekend we were reminded in church that opposition means you’re heading in the right direction and should encourage you 😂👍 Also, on Sunday, the verse of the day in our bible app was Josh 1:9 which is a verse that God has used to speak to Neil all throughout his Christian life, and specifically says ‘do not be discouraged!’ Very cool ❤️😃
Last week was a rough one for a very different reasons with some health issues in our wider family! Honestly, it kind of meant everything got a little quiet work wise for us because we were trying to make sure they were ok, and had to do a lot of running about caring for them so by the time we were so pooped, or our brains had stopped, so we couldn’t concentrate properly to do much work. We would love to share more openly about all that we’ve faced in the last week as that is as much a part of the story as anything else, and we would if it was our own health, but we want to protect our family’s privacy – we’re 100% sure they wouldn’t want all their stuff published on a blog!!! 😂 It wasn’t all sad stuff last week as Neil got to go and see Snow Patrol in concert – there’s a wee photo below just to prove it!!!
This week we’re a little more back on track although we will have the ongoing family stuff to manage for a good while barring a miracle. I (Janet) had felt we should maybe do a wee podcast about thankfulness, so we recorded that in the morning. Already we have some people reach out to let us know that it has helped them in the midst of some difficult situations they are facing.

Friends
One of the things we have learned throughout this journey is the importance of having good people in our lives. I can’t remember who first said it but the quote goes something like this;
Choose friends who pour oil on your dreams and water on your fears
We are so fortunate to have people who do this for this and this week we’ve had the opportunity to meet with some of them. We got to meet a lovely friend and her fiancé who were visiting from another country ❤️ We had the best time with them and it was super encouraging for our hearts. We haven’t seen this friend for maybe 5 years or so – I love it when God does that. We then had lunch with a couple of our closest friends who have walked this whole journey with is and we each had breakfast with a couple of friends who always encourage us.
This weekend we are sharing at a small leaders day in church (not that all the leaders are small, just that it won’t be huge gathering! 😂) so we’ll be getting our heads around that for a few days this week.
