This morning we needed to head 75 mins down the country to meet with someone in Dungannon, and so we thought when we were finished we’d drive to a few places while we were down there to pray in that part of the country! (Neil had been wondering if the Lord was asking how much land we wanted and were we satisfied with just the places we’d already prayer walked!) Before we left home Neil remembered he’d had a missed called from someone the night before, so he quickly called them back.
The phone call had been from someone wanting to give an offering to our ministry ❤️ This is the very first time this has happened 🙌 It felt like such a huge encouragement – as it’s one we’ve been praying about so much!! We’re blown away! So we’re asking the Lord what He would love us to do with that money!
On the drive down to the meeting we decided we’d come back home via some towns we haven’t been in for a long time 👍 We were also wondering about doing a podcast today, and as we chatted we thought it could be cool to record one in those towns and talk about generational inheritance because that’s the area where my (Janet) Dad grew up 😃
We started by walking around the town centre where we were meeting. We prayed blessing over the churches that are there, and for the amazingly diverse culture of people living there ❤️ We prayed that the town would become known as a place of welcome and all people would come together to make one wonderfully diverse culture there 🙌 As we drove on from there towards the next place, we jumped out quickly in May to ‘set our feet’ and pray blessing for that place. We’ve become experts in the pulled over, feet stepping, time sensitive kind of prayers in these small but important places!
When we arrived in Armagh, the next city on our route home, we parked along the side of a beautiful open area there, and as we walked along and prayed we were talking about how amazing it was to have that green in the middle of the street like that! There were a bunch of kids from the high schools coming out to play in that area which was so great! There was a lovely buzz about the place, and just a really lovely feeling ❤️ We sat on a wee bench in that area and recorded our podcast. It was brilliant to be able to honour and thank my Mum & Dad for the legacy of faith they left on us, and how the way they’ve lived their lives has impacted us and how we are living today 😃 And then Neil shared about how we all have a responsibility to live today in a way that will impact generations that come after us – whether they are our direct family line or not 🙌 We also got to see my Grandma’s old house there which was very cool 😎
From that town we headed to Portadown. We walked around the Main Street and down across to a Church where we used to go a bit as a family, and where Mum was the organist. It was so cool to see and we were surprised by the beauty of the Main Street. We prayed blessing, we prayed for the churches that are doing amazing things there, and we prayed against old troubles. We asked that the Lord would write a new story over Portadown, so that in 100 years time, as kids are learning about the history of that place there would be such a difference between the old history and the more recent history ❤️🙌
We went from there to Lurgan, and again prayed blessing over the whole place. We blessed the churches who are living Kingdom lives there, and prayed that it would be a friendly place, and a creative, expressive place ❤️ By this time we had to get back up the road to meet our son off the bus, so we just did 3 ‘setting our feet’ stops in Dollingstown, Magheralin, and Moira, to pray blessing, and then headed home 👍
That was a great wee day 🥳 Thank You Jesus 🙌
