The Big Smoke

This morning we headed to Belfast because we felt it was important to pray for our government, and to pray around Belfast as a city too ❤️😃 We had a wee message to do in IKEA on the way, and then we went to Stormont and prayed 🙌 It was an absolutely beautiful day and it was amazing to pray for our country and its leaders as we walked up the big driveway in the sunshine!

We prayed a lot into the history of our country, and prayed God’s Kingdom to be established where there has been a glorification of other, false gods and agendas – religion, bigotry, self seeking power, dishonesty, hatred etc… We thanked God for people who have worked in Stormont throughout the years who have loved Him and wanted to see His Kingdom coming in our land, and as we prayed we felt like we were joining our voices with so many others who have done prayer walks around Stormont over the years ❤️🙌🥳 We also thanked God for miracles He has performed in Stormont over the years – like in joining 2 political leaders together who at one time had hated each other!

When we got up to the building we really wanted to walk around it and pray, like a Jericho prayer, but we weren’t able to get the whole way around, so instead we prayed around a monument type thing that told the story of the history of Stormont, and a bit about what each building is used for etc! We walked around it 6 times in silence and then on the 7th time we decided we’d shout, like the actual Jericho story in the bible! Turns out we were a wee bit embarrassed to shout too loudly because there were quite a few people about 😂 So we quietly ‘woo hoo’d’ and praised God on our 7th go round 😂
We prayed that the walls that have been around our country through the years would topple in Jesus’ name 🙌

When we finished in Stormont we headed into the city centre and continued to pray for peace, hope and joy for Belfast! We prayed for people who have been displaced from other countries and ended up here to feel at home and find belonging and love in Belfast. And we prayed for people living on the streets to be safe, to meet Jesus, and their lives to be transformed by His power! We thanked God for a church we know who do loads of things to love people living homeless in Belfast! We walked on up to Queens University and prayed for education, from preschools all the way up through to university. We thanked the Lord for His plans and dreams over kids and young people and prayed for them to walk into the life He has for them ❤️ We thanked Him for all the lives that have been changed as they’ve met Him while being at Queens, and all the great things He has already done there.

As we walked into the city centre we had the opportunity to bless someone who was homeless. It was a short encounter, but one filled with joy even in the midst of their painful circumstance ❤️ As we have been in so many places around Ireland, we were so struck by the creativity on display all around Belfast, and so we prayed for more creativity and the arts to be released, and redeemed for God’s Kingdom, all around the city 🙌

Today felt like a special day in The One Hundred Years Project ❤️

Ps…. Janet did leave out one very important piece of information from today. I (Neil) GOT MY FIRST CLICK-FIL-A in Northern Ireland – WHOOP
