Today we began the first of our prayer loops around our area. It was 15.8 miles (according to Google), which took us around 4 and a half hours with a few wee stops along the way. Janet recorded 38k steps, which means I (Neil) took about 10 steps 😂 – our legs are only slightly different lengths. We prayed for so many things as we walked around the community; some were things that God just dropped into our minds, and others were triggered by what we were seeing and walking past. Here’s a list of what we prayed for today;
- Kids and families in the adoption and foster system
- Divides in our community and that unity would come
- We thanked God for places where we have met with Him over the years
- We prayed for various people as we walked past their places of work or as we remembered them
- Parents who have lost children
- For our council and that God would give them wisdom
- For our university, the education system, and the international students who live in our area today
- A end to religiosity and a rising up of people that were open to all God wants to do
- For lots of churches and businesses in our community
- Tourism, tourists, and we thanked God for how that industry provides for many
- For addiction of all sorts to be broken
- Mental health, isolation, and anxiety. We prayed that people stuck in their homes today would receive the confidence to come out and connect.
- Freedom to those who are enslaved and healing for those who have experienced abuse
- We thanked God for people generations before who have prayed the streets before us
- For the beauty of God’s creation and all that He has provided
- For different areas in our towns that are struggling with poverty
- We prayed for God’s Kingdom to come and prophetically for all the things He has in His heart for this area to come to pass
We also had opportunities to pray with a couple of people that we felt God highlighting to us which was amazing to be able to do that. We loved today, we prayed a lot of prayers, took a lot of steps, chatted with some great people and were reminded again of God’s power and the beauty of His creation! We are now home, happily tired, and about to dig into a wee celebration takeaway dinner from the chippie 😂
