Wow, today is day 199!! The last day in the 100’s of theonehundredyearsproject 😃 time really has flown since we set out and the Lord has been so incredibly kind to us! As I (Janet) look back over the last few months since we started this adventure my heart and mind just burst at how wonderful God really is!
We started out feeling so insecure and unsure about what life might look like in this season – and my goodness, while we still have so far to go in learning how to live well like this, I am blown away at how God has led us to this point, and how much more “normal” this life is feeling to us ❤️ (please have grace for us when we write on other days in the future how abnormal and wobbly it all feels sometimes 😂)
The Lord has shown us again and again His faithfulness as our provider, His gentleness in the ways that He leads us into new things, His love for our community, His creativity in the ideas He has in mind for going forward…and sooooooo much more! He is growing us every single day, and while there are days when that can feel uncomfortable and a little vulnerable, we wouldn’t want to live any other way than trying to surrender our lives to the King ❤️🙌 Today, on day 199, we are sitting in California, visiting our family 😃 Caleb has just headed off with their church for a 4 day youth camp 🥳 And we are pinching ourselves that this is what our summer is looking like!! Up until couple of months ago we did not think we would be able to make it out here to visit this year, but God opened the way and made it possible!!! He is unbelievably good & kind ❤️🙌
This weekend we will be teaching in a church service for the first time in 18 months as well. Teaching has never been our identity, we don’t ‘have’ to teach in order to feel useful, but it is something we love to do together and we are excited to see what God might do. Over the years we have learnt a simple truth when we teach and that is that our only job is to deliver what God wants to send. We simply say what He wants to say. Whilst there might be lots of other clever things we’d love to bring or look at none of them really matter as His plan is the way forward. So, please pray for us as we prepare and deliver what God is sending this weekend.
We’re going to be out here for a few weeks, so we’ll write more posts soon and we’ll try not to include too many sunny photos which might make you jealous if your weather is less than favourable this summer! 😃👍
