I hope Christmas was absolutely wonderful for you π₯³π We had the sweetest time off together as a family and so I (Janet) thought I would give you a wee peak into what we got up to.
It started with the week I was teaching in church just before Christmas. I wrote a little about that beforehand, and while teaching is a bit of a tricky thing for me, it is also a huge privilege, and I pray that the Lord was moving through what I shared. He is so kind, and so incredibly faithful, and it was, as always, my absolute joy to give Him my βYesβ in this way β€οΈ After the service that Sunday is when I really started to feel βoffβ for Christmas β€οΈππ
I know we’d shared just before the holidays that we were beyond ready to have Caleb off school so we could all hang out together for a couple of weeks – and it didn’t disappoint!! We really took time to invest in fun time together π We spent time with amazing friends and family, we did a little shopping in the sales, we ate A LOT of delicious food, watched a lot of fun TV and movies, played fun games on the PlayStation (that was only the boys, I’m rubbish at all that and don’t enjoy it at all π) We slept in, took gorgeous walks with the dog along the river and around the coast, and so much more!! And our church had its first Christmas Eve Carol service which was so special β€οΈ And, we celebrated Caleb’s birthday over the holidays too – so we had the best time!!
It was the perfect way to celebrate the end of the year, and take time to rest and fill up after what had been a busy wee season β€οΈAnd now, today is our first day back into post holiday rhythms! As Caleb headed back into school, Neil and I started our day, and our new year of theonehundredyearsproject, by going for a wee coffee to chat and ask the Lord about this year ahead ππ₯³ We’ve been praying over the holidays about this as well but it is always nice to set specific time aside for that too. It was so much fun to dream a little about what 2026 might look like! We have some ideas and hopes, and our job now is to submit those to the Lord and ask Him if any of them are from Him ππ As always, we only ever want to do what is on the Father’s heart to do, and so, while it’s so much fun to dream and imagine – the only things we actually want to happen are the things HE wants to happen! It will be so great to take time over the next wee while and hear from the Lord about all that!
With that in mind, one of the first things we’ve put in our diary is our first theonehundredyearsproject prayer team gathering π₯³ I know we’ve talked so many times about how wonderful our team are – but honestly we couldn’t do this adventure without them! We need their friendship, their prayers, and their help to hear the Lord’s voice for each step! They are such a gift to us β€οΈ Mostly, the other things we’ve been doing today have been writey things! I’ve been doing a couple of wee blog posts and arranging meeting up with some people, while Neil’s been working on editing some more of his book! And pretty soon now I’ll start on our dinner and then scoot up to the bus to get Caleb and hear all about his first day back π₯³β€οΈ
Here are some wee Chistmas pics πβ€οΈ
