We just got home last night after a totally brilliant time at Chroma Church in Leicester. π₯³
We headed off last Thursday and spent until Monday at their Leaders Conference and Church Services. It’s been a couple of years now since we’ve been at a conference like this, and one of the things that I (Janet) felt so excited about was the simple fact that we wanted to go! π I know that might sound a bit weird, but the last time we went to a leaders conference was very soon after we’d finished up at the church we had been leading, and we were feeling a little raw. I remember feeling like we needed to be brave to go to that one, even though it was an incredibly kind invitation for us β€οΈ Fast forward 2 years, and the difference that God has made in our lives and how He has led us into healing and wholeness in Him quite simply takes our breath away β€οΈ That meant we felt able to soak up and enjoy every single minute of this weekend!
On Thursday evening we spent time hearing stories from pastors and leaders about what God has been doing in their contexts. It was so encouraging to hear stories from church leaders, from all sorts of denominations, who are seeing the most incredible things; healings, salvations, changing spiritual atmospheres, and even more. This filled our hearts with so much joy and faith. π₯³ Because we haven’t been in these rooms for so long we were concerned that the church as a whole might have pulled back in going after true Kingdom pursuit – we needn’t have worried!
On Friday and Saturday, we worshipped together with people from lots of different church backgrounds, but all with the same heart to love Jesus and see God’s Kingdom come around the world π. We listened to teaching that both encouraged and challenged us to keep going and to go deeper with the Lord πβ€οΈ. The energy and passion at the conference was incredible, and it felt like coming home for both Neil and me. Chroma Church has done an incredible job at stewarding what and who God has given them. They prioritize God’s presence, lead people beautifully into His story, and are unapologetic in their pursuit of Him. We saw such diversity in the room in all sorts of ways with everyone fully sold out to be who God called them to be. On Sunday, βͺοΈ with the conference over, we got the opportunity to see what the church services looked like, and the reality was it looked no different than the conference; the same passion, priority, and pursuit of Jesus. We also saw two people respond to give their lives to the Lord, something that Chroma has been seeing every week for a long timeβhow amazing is that? On Sunday evening, we finished by attending a ‘Glory Night,’ which is a service dedicated to seeking God’s face and as the title says-His glory. It was an incredible night that lasted at least 4 hours, not that it felt longβit was an incredible service. We also met up with many old friends and made some wonderful new friends, as well as eating a lot of food! π₯³π.
Overall, it was a wonderful weekend and we feel deeply encouraged by the Lord, π₯³π₯³ although we are super tired now – it’s been a couple of years since we had to use Conference stamina!
I spent some time this morning praying and writing about some of the things that Neil & I felt God might have been saying to us over the conference weekend. Some of it I could put words to – like prophetic prayers and words different people had spoken over us, and other things that I couldn’t quite articulate, but meant just as much as the things I could say! All I mean by that is that there were things that happened over the weekend that are more ‘felt that telt’ π Things that God did in us rather than things He said to us, like deposits in our hearts for going forward if that makes sense β€οΈ It was good to take time to remember, to be thankful, and to ask questions.
I know it will take more time than just a part of a morning to see all the things that God has done – but my overwhelming feeling is one of thankfulness for how God met with us, spoke to us, connected us, and lead us on a wee bit further than before π₯³β€οΈπ
We love getting to adventure to different places and meet new people, and then we love to get home β€οΈ It was the best thing to get home last night and have the 3 of us back together πβ€οΈ (Ps – a massive thank you to our wonderful friends who loved our boy as part of their families this weekend, he had a blast β€οΈ)
