This morning I (Janet) met up with with a good friend for a walk and a catch up! I was telling her the story of ‘The One Hundred Years Project’ – she is very excited 🥳 Neil started doing some writing for our church Youth while I was out.
After lunch (& a wee nap 😴😂👍) we had another wee moment of both feeling the same thing without knowing the other one was thinking it 🥳 Before napping I’d had the town of Castlerock in my head but wasn’t sure if it was the Lord, and when we woke up Neil said the only thought he’d had was, because it’s a nice day, we should maybe do a wee lap of Castlerock 🥳😂🤩 So we headed off! We parked and walked all around the boarders of Castlerock. As we set off we prayed and thanked God for the blessing and in pouring into us as a family in Castlerock – we’ve met with Him often in Castlerock over the years ❤️
We started heading up the country back road and as we walked and prayed we were struck by the absolute beauty of the area. You could see right over the fields to Downhill castle and it was stunning! As we walked along the main road towards the turn off down to Castlerock again I felt the word ‘birthplace‘ and so we wondered and prayed if God wanted to birth things in Castlerock for the generations to come ❤️🙌
Then as we walked down the Sea Road Neil was thinking about the name ‘Castlerock’ and he was struck by the castle being representative of the Kingdom of God and how His church is built on the rock!! Pretty cool 😎
As we were walking back towards the car at the end of our walk, a car pulled up beside us, and the lady driving asked if we remembered her? I slightly recognised her face but couldn’t place her. Anyway, we had our dog with us and this lady said she thought she had met us and our dog before and could she please meet her again. We brought the dog over to the car and the lady was loving her and giving her dog treats etc and then shared that she’d just recently lost her wee dog and she was totally heartbroken 😢
She introduced herself and she was thanking us for letting her pet the dog 😭 She felt so sad about losing her own dog and so, before we left, we offered to pray for her, and she was so pleased. She said she’d love that so much, and so I took her hands and prayed God’s comfort and peace over her and for hope & joy for her ❤️ When I finished praying she said that had totally made her day 😢❤️
It was a trip well worth it even if it was just to meet that precious lady ❤️
