Today was day 7 of prayer walking our area 🙌 We had decided, because the final lap the Israelites did of Jericho was for worshipping and shouting, we’d love to do the final day of our prayer walking on a Sunday so that we could finish it all off by worshipping together at church at the end. The thing is, while we loved the idea of this, what it meant in real life was that we needed to set off at 6am so that we could arrive back in time for the start of the service 😬😂 So we drove over to park at church and headed off, nice and early, from there 😃
We started off just the 2 of us today. As we’ve shared before, we listen to The Holy Spirit highlighting things as we walk around and simply pray about those things! But today we also wanted to be aware that it was the final lap, and so, it was the worship lap! So we also prayed a lot of praise and worship prayers to God as we walked! When we were about half way round the loop we got a call from a friend to say she’d love to come and join us for the rest of the walk 😃 This was the best wee call because, while we were having a great time, we were also a wee bit tired this morning and so having a friend made things even better 🥳❤️
Today we all felt lead to pray for people struggling with a feeling of hopelessness and isolation ❤️ We know that God’s heart is that nobody would experience those feelings, and so we began to pray that this would be something that turns around in our community. That we would become known as a place where people are included, looked after, and loved well 🙌
When we arrived back in Coleraine our friend needed to run home to get dried off before church (it was VERY WET for the last half of the walk today) and so Neil & I finished off the final lap together. It was a wonderful privilege to be able to complete these prayer walks today, and the 6am start paid off as we finished up by worshipping together in church!
In a few days we will write about the things we learned and what we feel it taught us but for now all we want to say is….How great is the Lord 🙌🙌🙌
