What a great wee day yesterday was π We’ve been trying to get into some food habits for our fitness and long-term health! So when we got home from the bus run this morning, we both did a little weights session, and then I headed for a wee walk with our doggo πΆπ
As we were out walking, I was chatting away to the Lord, and I noticed a full rainbow in the sky πβ€οΈ It was so stunning, and I just worshipped God for His faithfulness in keeping His promisesβand for actually BEING the promise β€οΈπ It was a beautiful reminder of who it is that we worship!!
I do love the wee walking route that I do most often, partly because it’s so beautiful, but also because I tend to bump into the same people most times I’m out (usually other dog walkers πΆπ) This morning was no exception! I always say lots of ‘hellos’ to people in passing, and sometimes I end up stopping to have a wee chat with someone for a few minutes. And that’s what happened this morning π Twice actually – one lady I didn’t know at all, and the other one I had met a few years ago because our kids were in the same Saturday morning sports club! Both chats were lovely – all very light stuff, just a nice connection really! But I am learning that even when I just have a wee quick chat with someone, or even just say ‘hello’ in passing, because the Holy Spirit is alive in me, things can begin to happen in those people’s lives spiritually! God is so huge, and He is not limited in His movements to only when we speak directly about Him! Spiritually, there is A LOT going on all the time; we just tend to miss it often because we’re not tuned in that way π€·π»ββοΈ But it is exciting to realize that even in the tiny moments that seem so insignificant, and even if we never get to find out about it, God is moving and working to open people’s hearts so they can see how much He loves them β€οΈπ He is too wonderful β€οΈ
Anyway, I felt so great after my wee walk, and when I got home, we decided to record a wee podcast. We’ve been asking the Lord about whether we should record a small Advent series. We always want to do the things that are on God’s heart for us to do, and not just what we think are good ideas! And honestly, we hadn’t really heard a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ from Him about this series, so a few days ago, as we often do when we haven’t heard the answer to the question we’ve asked, we changed our prayer to ‘Lord, we think we’re going to go for this Advent series. We only want to do it if You’d love us to, so please make it clear if You have another idea that we should pursue instead’. We still didn’t hear a definite answer, but I definitely felt excited about doing it, and Neil had an idea of what we could talk about, so we decided maybe it was a ‘go π’ and we went for episode 1 of that today ππ
Then in the afternoon we had our final ‘Miracle Halls’ until after Christmas. It was a super quiet day, although the guys up at the sign did have one conversation with someone who has become a bit of a regular for a wee Wednesday chat, so that was brilliant πβ€οΈ As with everything, we only want to be obedient in what we’re doing, and we think obedience with Miracle Halls looks like keeping turning up each week unless God tells us differently β€οΈ And, as I said earlier, we know that spiritually things are shifting as we turn up – not because of who we are, but because of who HE is β€οΈπ And so we are excited to see God’s heart being revealed to the people in our community β€οΈ
In the evening we headed over to a thing at Caleb’s school and then had dinner with some friends, which was a lot of fun! π
I feel very content and so thankful. β€οΈ
