Well, here we are at the beginning of a new week 😃 We all had so much fun last week! It was Caleb’s half-term at school, so Neil and I decided to take the week off. Caleb was actually away on his school ski trip all week, which was super exciting, but we also missed him loads ❤️ He had the absolute best time on the trip, and it was sooooo good to get him home again at the weekend!
While Caleb was away, Neil and I decided we should go and do something fun too…partly because it would be fun, and partly because we knew we’d miss our boy not being at home with us 😂 So we headed over to our wee place in Spain for a few days and enjoyed a little blast of sunshine ☀️😎❤️
We love getting wee trips away together, and Spain was such a special time for us! We had a little bit of garden stuff to do to start off our time, but honestly, we didn’t even mind because the sun was out, and it just felt so good to be outside and warm 😎🥳 And it didn’t take too long, which meant it wasn’t long before we could really start to relax! Mostly we spent our time walking and eating 😂 But we kept realizing how much the time away was an amazing investment in our relationship! We talked, prayed, laughed, and dreamed loads together as we walked around the beautiful coastline and ate some amazing food – it was such a gift of quality time (& the quality weather really blessed us too!!) So good!
We got back home a couple of days before Caleb returned from his trip and just took the time to relax at home, before we super excitedly welcomed our very happy and very tired boy home at the weekend ❤️🥳 We took Sunday as a total family day and just invested time for the three of us before jumping into a new week 😃
Writing about these things is always such an incredible reminder of some of the ways the Lord has blessed us, but honestly, we don’t even need to write it down to remember and to be blown away with thankfulness time and time again!
We are constantly bowled over by how God sees us, knows us, and loves us – His goodness is both humbling and beautiful to us! God spoke to us many years ago about Him being our source, and He truly is! And He spoke to us again so clearly at the beginning of the onehundredyearsproject about how He wanted us to live with Him as our sole provider – I know we’ve written about that many times in this blog – but goodness me, at the start of this adventure, I don’t think we could have ever guessed all the creative ways He would knock us out with His faithfulness, His love, His provision, and His fun in what He meant by that!!!
Every bill that we pay, every trip that we take, every opportunity we have to bless someone else, every supermarket grocery shop, every meal we take out together, every single thing in our lives, all point back to our God and the extravagance of His nature!
I can’t stress enough – God is faithful and true to His word and His nature!! If He says it, we can trust it!! Living in obedience to Him is THE ONLY WAY to live!!!
