Beginnings and Endings

This has been a week of beginnings and endings for us at theonehundredyearsproject ❤️ I (Janet) started off on Monday by going for a lovely wee walk with our friend who’s been visiting from India. She and her family were getting ready to head off early on Tuesday morning, so this was our last wee get together to say goodbye. We walked through the forest near our house, and talked about how good the Lord is, and has been to us all! She shared about dreams God is leading them into in India and we dreamt together about future things for all of us! It was so good for my heart to get that time before they headed on to the next part of their trip.

Neil had a slightly different morning – he and a friend headed back to finish up the big gardening clear up we’ve been working on! They got it all finished and did an amazing job!!!! And got to celebrate all their hard work by going out for a big breakfast 🥳

On Monday evening we had the joy of getting together with our prayer team for theonehundredyearsproject which we absolutely loved!!! I know we’ve said it so much on here, but these guys really are brilliant!!! We spent time sharing some of the time line of how God has led us along each step of the last 18 months, and then we prayed that we could hear His heart for moving forward. The team heard some specific things from the Lord for us, and we prayed around that, and then we prayed blessing over each of them as we head into summer break 🙌 It was so much fun and an incredibly life-giving time! We are beyond thankful for these guys ❤️

On Tuesday this week we had our early morning prayer walk around the town! There were 4 of us this week which was class! And 2 of the guys hadn’t been before! It was so much fun to share some of the things we’d prayed over the first few weeks, and to see and hear new things this week! Even with the VERY early alarm call, Tuesday mornings are becoming some of my favourite times in the week 🙌

Caleb also finished school for this year on Tuesday 🥳❤️🥳 And so he headed out for a wee celebration lunch with a few of his friends in the afternoon. Meanwhile, Neil and I were guests at a wedding for a young couple who have been leading in youth with Neil this last year. They are so special, and it was the most beautiful thing to be there to celebrate them as they began the amazing adventure of marriage 🥳❤️

Yesterday we were helping our friends get to the airport as they headed off on their holidays 😃😃 But before that, I popped in to drop off a dinner and spend a little time with one of our elderly neighbours. It was such a small thing to do, but she and her husband welcomed me into their home and we spent time chatting, just about normal, everyday things. They’re a lovely wee couple and it was a privilege to spend time with them. Her husband shared with me that their days can feel quite long as his wife isn’t in great health and so doesn’t get out too much anymore. He said it meant a lot to them that I called ❤️ Hopefully I’ll be able to make visiting them a bit of a regular thing to do.

Last night we had small group in our house. We’re loving doing group with these guys. They’re a lot of fun and we’re having great conversations and times in God’s presence together 🙌 The group are really open to chat and so the nights don’t feel awkward or stilted at all which is so good. And they always have great questions which usually keep us chatting for a good wee while 😃👍 That was our last small group for a few weeks because we’re heading over to California on our holidays next week 🥳😎🤩 So we finished up the evening by praying for everyone – again it was a special time in the Lord’s presence as He encouraged us and spoke beautifully into people’s lives.

Today started with a celebration breakfast out with the 3 of us, and my brother. We love to mark the end of the school year, and the beginning of summer holidays – and what better a way to do that than by going out for some good food, with some great company 🤩 (we’re all about the food 😂😂)

This afternoon, I headed out to meet up with a girl who used to live here and who we actually met for the first time about 15 years ago when she started coming to the youth group we were leading at the time! She ended up journeying with us in that church for a long time and has now moved to live and work in India! She’s just home for a few weeks over the summer so this was our chance to get a wee catch up! It was great to see her and hear all the things the Lord is doing in her life now!

Neil stayed at home to get some other work things done. He has been working on a lot of admin type things that need finished up, (my goodness I’m so thankful that he does all that stuff – I don’t have a clue 😬) And he’s also writing a talk, as our brother in law has invited us to speak at their church while we’re visiting them in California. Again, I’m so thankful for Neil in this process!! I’ve written on here a couple of times about how I struggle with writing talks. I just find it so hard to translate what’s in my heart, onto a screen 😭 Neil is brilliant at it!!!!! So, even when we’re speaking together at something, we’ll both pray about what we think God wants us to share, and then Neil will do the writing and crafting of the talk – he is amazing 🤩

We’re excited to see what the Lord has in His heart for the people of Dwelling Place church ❤️ So it’s been another full, and great, week in the life of theonehundredyearsproject 🙌
