3 years on 🙌

Today marks 3 years to the day that we stepped down from the assignment that we had walked for many years at our previous church. Today we are celebrating all that the Lord has done in us since that day. He has been so faithful, so good, and so patient with us.

The day we left that post was not a joy filled day. There was relief, yes, because the run up to that moment had been deeply stressful and had affected us all. While leaving it behind was sad, it also lifted a weight off us, but we were so unsure of what was ahead and what our lives might look like. After all, our resignation had never been our plan. The weeks that followed were very difficult and in reality it took us around 6 months before we felt something like ourselves again. You can read about that more in my book which I published a few weeks ago if you’d like

But today, three years on, we feel fully healed (we’re sure the Lord has more to do but we feel as fully healed as we know how to be!) There is still a lot about the future that we don’t fully know but that is a lot less scary than it used to be.

As Janet has already mentioned in our previous post, on Tuesday night we gathered our prayer team together, the first time we had met since June. We began to share some of what God had done over the summer and what we would be leaning into this autumn. As we combined the retelling along with the stories we had experienced we could feel a growing sense of excitement in both us and the team. Sometimes it’s in the moment when you stop and take stock that you properly realise all that God has done.

So, today we celebrate. We celebrate His goodness, His faithfulness, and how His voice is the only guide that we need on this journey!

Thank you Jesus 🙌
