This week is flying by

We’ve had a great couple of days since our last post!

Miracle Halls was on yesterday, and we were excited about what the Lord might want to release in the community as we prayed 😃🙌 Just before Neil and I left the house to head over, I got a wee text from a friend asking if Miracle Halls was on because her parents wanted to come in for prayer for some ongoing health stuff. They were our first guests yesterday. It was such a joy to watch a couple from our team welcome them in, spend time praying for them, and love them well ❤️

We were a smaller team than normal, so while two of us prayed inside, the other two stayed outside to chat to and welcome anyone else who might come. Neil was up at the road sign and got chatting to a few people as they passed by. It’s really cool because he’s seeing a lot of the same people each week, and as time goes on we can really see relationships beginning to grow in this community ❤️

I was down at the door of the community centre welcoming people in. As I waited to see if anyone else would come, I spent some time worshipping and praying blessing over the area. During our time there yesterday, the local community committee were in having a meeting. It was lovely to chat to them briefly as they arrived, and one of the ladies asked what we were doing. She was so encouraging as I shared about us offering prayer every week! She loved that we were there doing that 😃 It was a cool wee moment of connection ❤️

Not too long after the first couple left, a man came in asking for prayer too. We’ve known him for a while, but we hadn’t seen him for a couple of years. He’d heard about Miracle Halls through a social media post our church had put up, so he thought he’d call in. It was such an out-of-the-blue connection, and again a couple from our team spent time chatting and praying with him about the things he’s facing. I love how God joined all the dots for him to be able to come and receive prayer when he needed it ❤️

Another man came in just before the end too, which was great! He’d been in before, so it was lovely to see him feel comfortable enough to come back again. It was a busy but really good wee afternoon 😃🙌

I went to a leaders’ night as well, which was just so good! It was exciting to hear the heart behind the groups our church is starting and some of the hopes and dreams for moving forward into this new season in church 🥳 While I was there, Neil was over watching Caleb play a football match — sadly they lost but 👎 they got some McDonalds on the way home to drown their sorrows 😂

Today I met up for a wee cuppa with a friend while Neil was doing some writing for the things we have coming up 😃 And I’m hosting church on Sunday this week, so I’ve been spending some time asking the Lord what He would love to do in that ❤️🙌

In other news, because of a few different things over the last month (some planned and others not so much!), our credit card bill has ended up a bit bigger than normal. We’ve been praying about that.

God has been so incredibly faithful — not only in providing for us every single month throughout this whole journey, but also in the ways He has provided! We’ve never been late with a payment on anything, and God has blessed us far beyond what we’ve needed. He is ridiculously generous!!!! We continue to be blown away by His nature and by how true to His word He really is!!! He is AMAZING!!!

As we’ve been praying about this payment, it’s been lovely to notice the changes in us since the early days of theonehundredyearsproject and how we used to pray about finances. In those early months, we often found ourselves nervously waiting as each credit card bill got closer, wondering if we had really heard God correctly when He said He was going to be our sole provider. We trusted Him, but we were also so uncertain that we had heard Him right. It was a vulnerable growing season for us, and we had more than a few wobbles!! (We wrote about it quite often in the earlier blog posts.)

But as time has gone on, God has been quietly working in our hearts, showing us how to walk with Him in this and building our faith step by step. I’m not saying we’re fully there yet (still very human!), but we don’t have those same wobbles anymore. Our prayers now aren’t, “God, have we heard You?” Our prayers now are, “Lord, please show us how You would like to provide for this next bill” ❤️

And we have peace about His answer — feeling totally certain that He has one and that He will show us what it is ❤️ So we’re praying exactly that right now: Lord, please show us how You want to provide for this bigger bill ❤️ Let’s see what’s in His heart 🙌

It’s been a great wee week, and we’re excited to keep adventuring into all God has in His heart!
