Sorry it’s been a wee while since we wrote a catch up post! We’ve been busy having lots of fun with theonehundredyearsproject over the last couple of weeks 😃
Over the summer we felt that God was moving us towards another season of stepping up into more opportunities that He had for us. At the time we didn’t know what that meant or what it would look and feel like, but we sensed Him speaking through a few different prophetic words we’d been given, and just our own feeling of ‘new’ that we had. So we stepped in to this autumn season feeling quite excited about what might be coming.
And that is exactly what is turning out to be true!! We shared in one of our earlier blogs about Neil travelling at the beginning of September, and about his book being published a couple of weeks ago 🥳🤩 Both of which feel very much like God invitations in to more with Him!
And then at the weekend we headed over to some friends in England to speak at a weekend they were having at their church. It has been a long time since we’ve spoken at a conference-style weekend and so we felt both excited and a little nervous as we got ready to head over. Really all of last week was spent finishing off the talks for all the sessions (even I did some writing for it 😂 haha, Neil ((legend)) wrote pretty much everything still and then I ‘Janetified’ it 😂❤️) It was a full-on week, and then we headed off on Thursday evening. Caleb came with us on this trip which was fab!! We loved getting to travel and do some ministry stuff together as a family!!!
The weekend was amazing!! We were so encouraged as the guys told us stories of how God is meeting with them and leading them, and as they showed us around some of the things they are doing in their city! They love where they live, and they are living in ways that welcome the King and His Kingdom to break into their everydays!! It’s so cool! They took us to their high street shop that they run. They use their space to not only sell clothes, and have a wee coffee shop, but also to house their food bank and other aspects of their compassion ministry! It was beautiful to walk around it and meet some incredible people who volunteer there, and others who have connected and are meeting Jesus by coming along 😭❤️🙌
When it came time for the gathering to start we were praying that God would move in power as we shared the things that we thought He’d asked us to bring. And He did!!!!! He is so incredibly kind 🙌 People really responded in ministry times and met with Jesus in beautiful ways! And then we had an amazing moment in one of the services on Sunday morning. We had felt God speaking a week or so before we went over about someone who was going to be at the service who was looking for Him. We thought they wanted to believe in God, but they’d been asking for some sort of sign that He was real before they could jump in. Well, as we began to share this word on Sunday morning, someone sitting a few rows back suddenly shouted out ‘It’s me, I’ve never been in a church service before, it’s me!!!’ I hadn’t even got the whole word out yet!!! It was amazing! We had a chat from stage and I asked if they’d been asking God for a sign, which they had, and so I got to let them know that God had heard them and how much He loved them. They began to cry and said they wanted to meet Jesus ❤️ It was a STUNNING moment – I was undone ❤️😭🙌🥳
And there are so many more wonderful stories of people encountering God’s love, hearing His call into more with Him, surrendering their own preferences and lives in order to follow Him into whatever He wants. It was so good!!!! And it was more than a joy to watch Caleb praying for people, building relationships with some of the youth of the church, and sharing in one of the sessions that the pastor of the church was leading, about his dream for how he wants to share Jesus in his school! It was such a special time with wonderful people who loved and looked after us soooo well! We came home full, and a wee bit pooped 😂 so we took a couple of slower days to start this week which also were wonderful!
Outside of this trip we’ve still been doing Miracle Halls and weekly prayer walks. We’re loving doing this stuff. Last week was quiet in Miracle Halls, but this week we had a gorgeous Mum and daughter come in for prayer. They had been in a few months ago and had received a wonderful answer to prayer, and so they were partly calling in just to say hi, but also they needed a little prayer for another family member, so we had the privilege to pray with them again which was wonderful. And the prayer walks have been brilliant – I’m really loving them!! I headed out today because there have been a couple of violent attacks in our community over the last week or so, and so I wanted to claim our streets for God and His Kingdom, and stand against the enemy’s plans. While I was praying I ended up in a gorgeous conversation with a girl who used to connect with us, over 10 years ago, in some youth stuff we were running in town. It was such a special moment that ended in getting to pray with her and invite her to church – thank You Jesus, I’m taking that as taking back some ground after the violence ❤️🙌
I know this is a bit of an epic post (sorry 😬) but my heart is bursting with all the Lord is doing!!! I’ll try and get back into a better rhythm next week so the news is a bit more ‘bite sized’ 😂
